October is an excellent time to travel in Italy. It is the off-season but the weather is good with autumn-like temperatures and little rain. Keep in mind that the north of Italy is different than the southern regions, so check the forecast as your departure draws nearer.

Milan temperatures range from 11 to 17 centigrade with an avarage of 8 wet days. Rome has a similar likelihood of rain to Milan but with temperatures between 13 and 22 degrees. Palermo is the warmest at 16 to 25 degrees.

October is a great time to visit Italy -- not too hot, or too cold. Of course the weather varies greatly depending upon where you're visiting, but in Rome you can count on mid 60's to lower 70's (Farenheit) and lots of sun.

Weather is usually mild in October with cool evenings. Temperatures can vary depending on where in Italy you will be with cooler temperatures in the north, think Milan, and warmer temperatures heading south into central Italy, think Rome, and the warmest in the south, think Palermo. Chance of rain in October is about 25% of the days regardless of region.
