Main treatment is conservative; rest, ice, elevation, and compression. Avoid movements that aggravate rotator cuff tears. Physical therapy may be performed after an initial period of rest. Tears refractory to conservative treatment may be candidates for surgical repair.

Torn rotator cuffs are initially treated with rest, an ice compress, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce inflammation and control the pain. After, physical rehabilitation should be done to restore the rotator cuffs' range of motion and strength. If there is no improvement, surgery can be done.

In the case of someone tearing their rotator cuff surgery is going to have to be the option. They will have to go into your shoulder and reconnect your labrum or whatever it actually torn in it. The reocvery time will be hefty but it has to be done because this is a serious injury.

Usually time can only heal this one. Although there are several ways a doctor and patient can handle a torn rotator cuff. Massage therapy, surgery, and physically therapy are the most common. You will have to find out how severe your problem is and decide which options fit the situation.

The same as for any tendon injuries. Ibuprofen will help with the swelling, and make sure you don't do any lifting or straining. Apply ice the first day or two, then heat pads. If it doesn't clear up after five days, make sure you visit your doctor.

You would need to ask your doctor that question, they would know the answer. That is what they are there for. Have it looked at, so the doctor can tell you the best treatment for it.
