"Virtus" is a noun meaning "virtue". "Declension" is how a noun changes form, depending on where and how it's used. Forms of "virtus" include virtutis, virtuti, virtutem, virtute, etc.

"Virtus", manliness/virtue in Latin, is a popular example illustrating the third declension of nouns. Recall that declension is inflection in, e. g. , nouns reflecting change in case. Other nouns of this group, such as civitas, urbs, antiquitas, follow the same pattern. Single Plural nominative virtus virtutes accusative virtutem virtutes genitive virtutis virtutum dative virtuti virtutibus ablative virtute virtutibus
