The strongest prescription painkiller is Vicodin. It is a narcotic analgesic product containing of hydrocodone and paracetamol. It is used to get relief from severe pain. Vicodin production is regulated by the Controlled Substances Act in 1970. Hydrocodone blocks the receptor in the brain. And acetaminophen reduces the fever. vicodin should be stored in room temperature between 15-30 degrees.

You're wrong. Vicodin is one of the milder narcotics. After surgery you'd most likely be given oxycontin. If you already have a tolerance then something stronger like morphine. The strongest being fentanyl.  add a comment

Some of the strongest painkillers available for oral administration include: Morphine, Demerol (meperidine), Dilaudid (hydromorphone), Levo-Dromoran (levorphanol tartrate), & Oxycontin (oxycodone). Percocet/Endocet (oxycodone-acetaminophen) is also a strong painkiller often prescribed for post-surgical pain. Vicodin/Lortab (hydrocodone-acetaminophen) is an effective painkiller but may not be strong enough for moderate to severe pain.

In general, the strongest pain killers are opioid drugs--things like morphine or oxycodone--but they can have major side effects. Follow your doctor's post-surgery instructions.

Pethidine, Advil, Percocet and Ibuprofen are powerful pain killers. But it is not advisory to take it without advice of a physician as sometimes it may damage your brain. Pethidine when used frequently may cause side effects to large extent.
