Stem cell research required the use of cells from dead infants. Its basically like a blank slate cell that has not gotten a specific function in the body yet. Some people are greatly opposed to using babies for research. On the other hand, there may be many diseases that can be cured using the stem cells.

There are arguments against using stem cells for research. It mostly comes from where the stem cells are obtained: human fetuses. As a result, some people don't want to use stem cells for research. They believe it is morally and ethically wrong. However, stem cell research has made some incredible advances in solving medical problems!

Stem cells cause difficulty because many people believe that they are only extracted from human embryos. This is not correct. Stem cells can be harvested from umbilical cord debris.

In order for scientists to use stem cells, they would usually need to harvest them from unborn fetuses. This is illegal in most areas currently.
