Verses 1-7 urge that we offer our lives as sacrifices to God, that we live in a way that is pleasing to Him and that we as Christians are all members of one body in Christ and should use our gifts well. Verses 9-21 urge us not to hate enemies.

The meaning of this chapter is that each christian has a different purpose within the body of the church! We work together as a body to preform the Lords purposes! We are to love one another! Its references are to our body! Our body is used as an analogy to the church which is the body of christ!
