When you leave your possessions for a certain amount of time, without making some kind of arrangments of picking the items up. If you do not make these arrangments, your items that are left will no longer be yours, but the person(s) that you left these items at.

It is too long to put here in its entirety. Essentially what the definition says is that you walk away without any intention whatsoever of making a future or past claim on property or persons.
