The healthcare system for French Canadians of far more limited and restrictive than that in the US. Although more individuals have access to care, that care is tightly controlled by government guidelines and is thus limited in what it covers. Therefore, patients have less agency in their treatment and in the procedures they undergo.

The French Canadians have a universal health system, which means that they do not have to pay for healthcare. However, doctors are paid by the government.
