The Indiana Good Samaritan Law was designed to provide a protection and immunity from liability from practicing rescue and emergency services when trying in good faith to help a victim.

Indiana Code 34-30-12 says that anyone who "in good faith, gratuitously renders emergency care at the scene of the emergency or accident is immune from civil liability for any personal injury. . . " The law is specific about these exemptions but generally, if the assistance is provided without malice or intent to harm, there is no liability.

Basically if harm comes to an injured party while you are trying in good faith to give them aid by administering CPR in most cases you are not liable.
