In 1946, Stella Pajunas was recorded at a typing speed of 216 words per minute. She was using an IBM electric typewriter. Then there's Barbara Blackburn, who can maintain a top speed of 150 words per minute for 50 minutes! Barbara's top speed was recorded at 212 words per minute.
