Battery life depends a lot on much you use the phone and is typically measured in loading cycles, i.e. how often the battery is charged and uncharged. Under normal use a battery should last around two years, before you feel significant drop in performance.

The average talk time for a phone is anywhere from 3-6 hours. This all varies with what you are doing on your phone. The more you do the faster it will die. Games and internet on phones are very battery demanding. Every phone is different when battery life is becoming an issue.

Well the battery life depends from phone to phone. You can check your phone's manufacturer page and in the specifications it is mentioned about the battery life in stand by mode and also in talk time.

The battery life of a mobile phone varies with the model, as well as how much you use it. However, when fully charged it should last at least a full day. If not, return it to the store where you bought it and ask for a new battery.
