The EEOA was created to prevent discrimination against people seeking employment on the basis of race, religion, sex, age, or any other federally protected status. It provides anyone who feels that these factors were involved in them not getting a job a legal basis for seeking justice against any company that falls under the act.

The Equal Opportunity Act was designed and put into place to ensure that people are not discriminated upon based on race, creed or gender in consideration for a job and that these factors would not hinder persons from getting employed by companies. Because of this act being put into place, it provides equal employment opportunity for everyone.
