What is the difference between hormone treatment and chemotherapy?

Hormone treatment is the use of hormones to treat any number of conditions, from infertility to menopause to prostate cancer. Chemotheraphy is cancer treatment that uses specific drugs/drug combinations to target cancer in the body. Hormone treatment and chemotherapy are not interchangeable.

Chemotherapy involves chemicals that work to kill the targeted cells. Hormone treatment attemps to adjust the balance of hormones in your body to make it inhospitable for the target cell.
