Ceremonies are generally serious events that mark the big accomplishments or occasions in life. Examples of ceremonies are baptisms, inductions, and weddings. Celebrations, on the other hand, are more like parties. You can have a celebration for anything: birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, holidays. Celebrations are less formal than ceremonies usually are.

A ceremony follows certain customs or rules to complete. Examples of ceremonies would inclube Weddings, a high scholl or college graduation, etc.A celebration is more of how you want to celebrate an event. The parties after a ceremony would be a celebration designed by you like you want it to be.
