What is the difference between Aciphex and Nexium?

They are both drugs in the class known as H2-blockers. Aciphex contains rabeprazole and nexium contains esomeprazole. Both drugs are very similar, and should work the same for most people. The biggest difference is probably price.

Rabeprazple or Aciphex is used for gastroesophageal same as Esomeprozole or Nexius both involving extreme stomach acid. Not much of difference only the contant. both are used for same purpose.

Aciphex is Rabeprazole and Nexium is esomeprazole, both the drugs belong to the same category that is proton pump inhibitors and are used for the treatment of duodenal and peptic ulcers.

Aciphex (Rabreprazole)is the generic version of Nexium (Esomeprazole). They contain slightly different organic molecules, but work by exactly the same chemical mechanism, like all generic drugs. There is no real difference between them, except the price and the manufacturing company. Both ought to be equally effective in treating acid reflux

I have Barrett's esophagus and my Dr. will only let me take aciphex. He says it works better for this.

Aciphex is used for relief from heartburn and acid reflux disease while nexium is used for the treatment of heartburn caused by astroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Both are different in composition.
