When someone is adamant it means that they are not only convinced of the relevance or the assuredness of something, but that they are ready and willing to prove their point.

Adamant is when someone feels very strongly about something, be it an opinion or attitude. Their belief is strong and unyielding. This is related to the word "adamantine" which means diamond-like; in other words, unbreakable. Someone who is adamant will have his mind made up and will be unwilling to change it.
