My own child used to get private 30 minute lessons for $20, but lately the teacher raised his prices to $25.

Since many people do not play the piano the cost of the lesson are considerably high. You may be able to find someone who is willing to work with you in your area, but for the most part the lessons are not cheap. If you want the best, then you will pay the price.
