A drip or sprinkler system can be set up with automatic timer. A timer may be purchase from any home improvement store. Many timers have multiple ports for different irrigation zones. Once the timer is installed, set up start times and run times for each port. You may choose to run the water every day or only on selected days.

You can put a timer on your sprinklers to water your plants. Or you can have a friend take care of them for you , while you are gone. Hope this helps.
