You should get a box designed for a freezer and put it in there. Be sure to defrost it before you pack it up to go or else you will have a real mess. It is advisable that you hire a professional so as to ensure that no damage is done to your freezer.

Upright. You can lay it down on a side but keep from denting it. Because of the nature of the oil in the sealed compressor system you will need to let it stand upright for a 24 hours before running.Be sure to protect any exposed coils.

I would rent and appliance dolly and use ratchet straps to firmly attach the freezer to the dolly. You should have at least two strong people to move the appliance, and be careful not to jostle it too much while moving it. Before you move it yourself, you might check with professionals or the store where you bought the freezer.

Remove the glass shelves, slide a dolly under from the side, strap the freezer down, tip slowly and move to the truck where it should be set upright. If there is no room to haul it upright, tip onto the side, haul with the hinges at the top to prevent from opening during the move.

Wrap straps or stout cord around freezer and slide dolly underneath it. Tilt back a little and transport to truck, keeping upright. Let set for awhile before plugging cord in.

If you go to a moving store you can get lifting bands, use them with a partner to move the freezer than load it on its side in a vehicle.

My dad and I had to do this at my old house. We found one of those carts that movers use to move large objects. We took the freezer and tilted it to one side, while the other person put the cart under it and then strapped it in. Next we moved it to the new location.

The best way to transport an upright freezer is upright. You can transport it on its side, however the oil inside the motor can leak out, therefore you will need to let the freezer sit for 24 hours before you plug it back in.

If possible it is always recommended to ship any refrigeration appliance in the orientation it is to be used. When it has reached its destination it is recommended that the appliance be left to sit for at least thirty minutes in order to settle the freon and ensure proper function of the appliance.

Best way to transport it is to place it on a cart. You will need atleast two people to help you lift up the upright freezer. If you are moving it from place to place then obviously you need a large vehicle to transport this due to the weight and size.
