Putting some ice on the swollen area typically helps with the swelling after extraction. Make sure that you don't put the ice directly on your skin but wrap it in cloth before applying. Additionally, you can take an anti-inflammatory drug that your doctor prescribed or else Advil/Aleve (naproxen, ibuprofen) will help with the swelling.

The best way to relieve swelling after wisdom tooth extraction is by giving cold fomentation for 24 hrs followed by hot gargles. Serratiopeptidase should be given along with painkillers.
