The best way to train your puppy is to walk him as much as possible. He will learn to "go" outside, in a short amount of time. For the times you can't walk him, use puppy pads available at any pet store or Wal-Mart.
Understand your puppy's schedule. They "go" a certain interval after meals. Take the dog out when you figure that out and praise the dog for going outside.
