Goats can go to the same farrier as horses use or go to a large animal vet. Get your initial trim done professionally and ask for a turorial at that time. Goats prefer however to have their hooves trimmed by the environment -- tack coarse sandpaper on ramps and allow your goat to use them regularly to maintain trim.

If you have a milking stand for the nanny goats the best way to trim hooves is to put the goat on the milking stand that way you can tie them and then all you need to do is get them to stop kicking instead of trying to hold their whole body still.

Practice and patience. You will need a pair of hoof shears and plane. Clean the interior portion of the hoof of manure and debris. Clean the exterior of the hoof and cut along the growth lines circling the hoof, cutting until white turns to pink. Smooth using the plane.

With hoof pick clean up the manure from the toes. Take a tooth brush and water and scrub the sides of the hoof. Now start trimming slices off the hard side nail and the soft. Trim until white change to pink. Use carpenters plane to level both toes.
