Whether the oak is finished or unfinished, start by lightly sanding the wood and coating it with an all-purpose primer. Then either spray or brush on two coats of a high quality enamel paint, lightly sanding between coats. Alkyd-based paints give the smoothest results with the fewest brush strokes showing.

They should be sanded using a 150 grit sanding block and then wiped down witha tack cloth to remove the dust. Prime them with a highly adhesive primer and paint with a premium product in a gloss or semi-gloss finish.

Remove doors & paint them in garage. Roughly sand all surfaces to remove gouges and so primer will stick. Remove all sanded dust. Prime with a stain blocker primer, using a small foam roller & a small brush as needed. Then use one or two coats of enamel paint.

Sand them with a medium to coarse grit sandpaper and then apply a high-bond primer such as Gripper or UniPrime. Paint them with a high-gloss paint using an airless sprayer.

This is one question I hate to answer. I am not for painting any wood. Once it's painted you can't go back without stripping the wood. Maybe the wood need a cleaning, sanding and a little poly to make them look better.
