What is the best way for me to introduce myself?

I never know what to say.

Simplicity is best when introducing one's self. Look the person in the eye and say something direct like "Hi, I'm Katie." If you can give your presence additional context, feel free to do that (eg, "I'm Evan's friend from high school.").

It is highly dependent on the environment, but after the initial greeting I like to ask a question about them, usually based on whatever environment we're in. Based on their answer, you can reciprocate and go from there. Otherwise a "nice to meet you" will suffice, and is pretty simple.
