Mix 1 tablespoon of salt with half a cup of dechlorinated water. Mix well. Use an eye dropper to drop 2-4 drops in the water. Change water often!

Fin rot is a bacterial condition, one which is best remedied by changing the tanks water. Bacteria in the water will do nothing but harm the fish. Also, check and maintain a constant ph level in the water. There are also many antibiotics that can be put into the water to treat certain conditions. Melaflix is popular one.

I like to use Melafix to treat fin rot because it is an all natural treatment. It helps to treat the fish without being too harsh.

Fin rot is very hard to treat. First, isolate the fish with rot and change the water in your tank ASAP. Next, talk to a veternarian or pet shop employee. They will usually have a good idea of what to use to treat the rot.

Treatment for fin rot is very simple. You need to change the water everyday, and you need to add a bit of kosher salt to the water.
