There are lots of books and websites that offer advice about inheritance, taxes and trusts. Check out the advice from Suze Orman, Motley Fool, Dave Ramsey and Robert Kiyosaki. Each has a distinct point of view, but all are highly respected. Choose the advise that works best for you.

You should see a tax attorney or a CPA who specialized in high net worth individuals. They can help you set trusts and transfer assets to them. Generally, this planning is only needed by people with net worth above $2 million. Below that level, any good laywer is fine.

For inheritances, it's best to have a legal will, binding the money to your family. A living will states that you are a competant individual, and know exactly who gets what, simply speaking. Taxes are paid on inheritances, that's a recent federal law, but law makers want to eliminate that tax, which means, more money received out of the inheritance.
