I think the best sandwich is hard salami with fresh mozzarella with romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, and pesto on a ciabatta or foccocia bread.

Depends on what you like. I personally prefer virginia ham and cheese to me that is the best. Or turkey, you can never go wrong with that.

Using only meat and cheese on a sandwich is boring so you must always try and compliment your meat and cheese. Like for instance putting a little bit of jam with the cheese or a nice mustard with the meat. Ultimately it come's down to your own taste, so why not experiment a bit ?
