This can get so confusing, there is SO much out there. The college you are looking into is your best resource, as is your local library. Even if you are older, I recommend consulting the guidance counselors at your local high school, you are a taxpayer and can utilize that. There are consulting companies that will help you.

Grants for education are offered by the federal government and some state governments. After that, the school itself is the best source of info for what's available out there. Large bookstores also carry directories of grant-awarding institutions along with a list of requirements, which are often very specific. To apply for financial aid, start by completing a FAFSA.

The federal government has a lot of information about education grants. The department of education is a great place to start. The financial aid offices of schools also offer information about educational grants. There are also nonprofits that deal with issues in education and one of them may be locating grants for education.
