Mandevilla do best if brought indoors once the temp drops to 50 degrees or lower. To aid in treatment of pests on your plant it is recommended to trip as soon as your plant has quit flowering. Don't do any fertilizing through the winter and keep watering to mimum.

Holy cow lol! This is fate or kismet because I just found some pesty bugs on my mandevilla. I called my mother in law and she said all I had to do to treat the plant was mix some liquid dish soap with water in a spray bottle and spray!

Wellllll that works on a lot of plants and insects but spider mites are stubborn so I learned to purchase a commercial grade insect soap. They have organic types now so it will be safe for kids and pets :-)  add a comment

Well it really kinda depends on what kind of pest you've got. Some mandevilla will get mealy bugs. Look for a white mass. Use a Q-tip and alcohol and dab each mass. Continued treatment is to spray the plant with 50% isopropol alcohol and 50% water. Good luck!

Believe it or not the best treatment can be lady bugs. If your problem is aphids, the lady bugs will often eat all of the aphids until they are gone, and then the lady bugs will die or move on when they have none left to eat. Chemical pesticides can be harmful to the blossoms.

Well, just take raid and spray it around the area. It has worked for me several times. Always spray raid.

The most common pest is spider mites, and the best treatment is prevention. Increase humidity by hosing the plants frequently. An insecticidal soap will take care of stubborn problems.

The best treatment for any insect is raid. I just spray it on and off every other day and keep insects at bay. Try this and I'm sure it is going to work.

Mandevillas can be treated with an insecticide soap if you experience a pest problem. This plant is not usually affected by pests, but be sure to check under the leaves for infestation and then treat accordingly.

The best way to treat pests is to go outside and check around and under the leaves. If you find any pests, wash it off with some insecticidal soap.

Mandevilla or Dipladenia; pink, red, white, or yellow flowering sub-tropical & tropical vines of the Apocynaceae or Periwinkle families; tend to attract Mealybugs & Scales. Horticultural oils like: Cotton seed oil, Soy bean oil, Sunspray (R), Scalecide (R), Volck(R) , ...; can be fairly safely used; Horticultural oils work mostly by asphyxiating many insects & larvae.
