I suggest an oil based paint from either Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore. It depends on what color is on the cupboards now, and what color you want to change it to if you should use a primer before the paint.

Assuming the cupboards are wood, acrylic latex paint might be your preference. A shellac based primer is recommended to use under acrylic latex if needed. Oil based paints require an oil based primer if needed. Latex paint cleans up with soap/water, is less prone to yellowing than oil based paint, and it withstands humidity and heat better.

an exterior semi-gloss paint will be best. exterior paint is more durable than interior and can be mixed in any color you choose. a thick paint like Behr will give better coverage and Behr paint is available with a primer built in,so it saves time and coats of paint if priming is needed.

i like oil paint for kitchen cupboards, because oil paint is weather prof paint. it is shine. oil paint is no need mentions. i can easily paint another paint on it. i feel oil paint is real paint. i use oil paint in flat way or even i can use light and sheds in this paint.
