The best motor oils are synthetic oils. These are usually not needed or any more effective in normal passenger cars though. I would strongly recommend using the oil suggested in your user manual and having it changed at the intervals recommended in the user manual.

I wouldn't buy into the hype about oils that last longer or clean you engine or any of that. All oil is equal just as long as you have the right viscosity you can go with the cheap one. The only one that is different is full synthetic, its good for high performance on low mile engine only.

Really there is no single oil that is the best for every application. Do some research to see what is best for your car in the manufacturer recommended weight. Just make sure that it is a full synthetic oil if you can afford it.

Really there is no single brand that is the best. Typically any full synthetic oil will be good for an everyday normal engine. Mobil, Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Castrol all make good oils. Just remember to change it at recommended intervals and use a quality filter.

The best motor oil is mobile 1. If you are looking for a fully synthetic oil then this is the best way to go. It has the higest quality. If you are looking for conventional oil then I would purchase Valvoline.

It depends on how old your engine is. A new engine should use standard oil with a detergent. Consult your owner's manual for the correct weight of the oil. An engine that has over 10,000 miles can use a synthetic. If you purchase a used car it is best to use the brand used by the prior owner.
