First, vacuum thoroughly to remove the majority of the dander. Make sure to move furniture and get all the way to the walls/baseboards. There are several home shampoo/steam clean products designed to help remove allergines. Use hot water and spend extra time extracting as much of the wet solution as possible.

The best thing to use to remove pet dander from a carpet is a hot liquid shampoo solution. Pet dander is always most likely to settle on the carpet, and this solution will remove the vast majority of it.

Vacuuming can be alright if you have a quality vacuum. However, some dander will still remain in the carpet fibers. Shampooing your carpet would work best to remove dander.

Take a clean vacumn bag and put some baking soda in the bag, before attaching. Vacumn the rug throughly. Contact your pest control store for other solutions.
