What is the best love song ever?

Answer by  lonelywolf (2117)

"Best" is hard to define. I personally think "Storybook Love" from the Princess Bride is the best love song ever written. However, I find that most people think it is either "The Rose" by Bette Midler or "Love me Tender" by Elvis Presley.

Without a doubt, the best love song in history has to be The Righteous Brothers' recording of "Unchained Melody". The song was written in 1955, but re-recorded by The Righteous Brothers in 1965. Since 1955, the song has been covered by over 670 artists, making it one of the most covered songs in history!

For my money it has to be Take My Breath Away by Berlin. It tells the story of the yearning and how the physical love transcends into an all encompassing need for the other person. Nothing else matters except the sounds, sights and thoughts of one they love. It has a slow, haunting sensual beat also.
