The most common traps used are snares or leg hold traps. It is very important you know what you are doing and do NOT employ cruelty traps, for obvious reasons, but also cruelty traps and poison can impact any animal in your area, including your pets. The best option is to consult your Fish and Game and abide by their protocols.

A regular snare trap works great for controlling these animals, or a foot snare as it is often called. These work great.

Traps are not the best choice for controlling fox or coyote. The best way to control them and keep them away is to remove the source of their interest, food.
