I like Surge and Q-4 for annual grasses and broadleaf. It has very low odor and pretty much handles everything I need. I live in the South where we have sandy soil, lots of heat and humidity and the weeds grow like crazy. I think we are zone 7.

Go organic! That is the best herbicide and it won't harm pets or children. Use either vinegar or a soap-base water spray to get rid of weeds. The soap-based is good for use around garden vegetables and herbs. The vinegar can be used full strength on stubborn weeds.

That kinda depends on what you are using it on. Tree seedlings will need one type and broadleaf grasses will need a diff type. For all around usage Confront seems to be the most popular among gardeners and landscapers. Sorry I can't give a better answer w/out more info.
