When it goes to seed, it will spread. It is best to remove the entire plant which includes roots. Then you can reseed and start over with a healthy lawn. If it is established, use MSMA. Find it at a farm supply store. The normal home improvement stores often don't carry this.

You will need a weed killer, the bahai grass has deep roots and is very resilent. There are several options to choose from but the best option is the one that is safe on the enviroment such as Megagro - Crabgrass killer.

Monosodium Methanearsenate, also known as MSMA, has been known to be effective for this. The key is to apply the correct amount. If you read the label it should instruct you on this. Be very careful as this is a poison. If you put too much on your lawn you will cause a local ecological disaster.

MSMA, which is an arsenic based herbicide and fungicide will definately kill the bahia grass in your yard. MSMA must be used as directed to properly kill this grass. You may have a hard time finding this product. The best place to purchase MSMA would definately be your local farm supply store.

Atzrine is the best way to kill bahia grass. Aztrine is a very strong grass killer and will kill any herb that it touches. Another herbicide that works well is called Riverdale Manor, which only takes two applications, six to eight weeks apart from a hose end sprayer, it kills bahia grass as well as other broadleaf weeds.

MSMA will take care of the grass if it is used properly. You can also use crab grass killer as well. Crab grass killer is a little bit easier to find in stores then MSMA. Check out your local hardware store and see what they have to offer. Some place like home depot or lowes.
