Between $50-60,000. The average salaries may be higher but the cost of living in these two states are a lot higher as well. Connecticut actually pays the highest teacher salaries.

Typically teacher salaries are between $32k and $38k for beginners straight out of college. Most teacher positions pay based on years of experience and the type of education you have. You will get more money if you have an advanced degree such as a Master's or a PhD. Otherwise, you need experience and tenure to make the big bucks.
