An appropriate dress for an eighth grade graduation dress would be a dress that both you and your daughter approve of. Not too short, because that's a little raunchy for someone so young, but not too long, because teens don't really approve of long dresses.

Bridesmaids' dresses are a bit too much for an eighth grade graduation. It is important to pick out something that is age appropriate, ie: not too short, strappy, etc. A cute sundress would be ideal (if it's warm enough).

A simple shirt and pants that are not jeans will do, unless you are going to a school that requires dresses.
