Quota sampling is done by dividing the population into mutually exclusive segments. It is a non-probability or non-random sampling with high chances of biasness in sampling. Samplers have high level of discretion. Stratified sampling is one example of it.

It is a technique used in statistical analysis. It is similar to stratified sampling, in that you can specify which subgroups of the population you want to target, e.g. 100 car owners and 100 bikers. It differs from the stratified sampling method because you don't have to choose people at random; you can choose to interview you friends instead.
