Padparadscha are gemstones that are sapphires whose colors range from orange to pink, but are mostly described as being pink, like the colors of a sunset. Extremely rare, these gems are sometimes heat treated which make them less expensive, or laboratory created, but the best real ones come from Sri Lanka. They are used in rings, brooches and other jewelry.

Padparadscha jewelry is a modern wonder. The jewels are sapphires created in a laboratory with all the same chemical and mineral constituents as natural sapphires. They come in all the traditional cuts of princess, marquise, pear shapes plus many more shapes. The advantage is cost and no damage to miners health.

Padparadscha jewelry is made with a special type of sapphire stone that has a pinkish-orange hue. Flawless padparadscha is quite expensive and is found in the Sri-Lanka area.

Padparadscha jewelry contains naturally orange sapphires. The Padparadscha is a very rare form of sapphire, originally mined in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), but also found in Vietnam and Africa. It is possible that orange stones marketed as Padparadscha jewelry may not be authentic, but treated or synthetic, so beware.
