I believe the old timers disease you are talking about is actually medically reffered to as Alzheimers disease. Alzheimers disease is a disease where the peron suffers memory loss.

Old-timers disease is actually Alzheimers disease. Many people call it this for some reason, I guess because you are usually old when you get it. It is a disease with dementia that progresses to the point of death.
