Salt that has smaller grains, as opposed to ones that have larger grains. Plain Diamond Crystal salt is considered fine. It is used for cooking.

Fine salt is just a fine grade or finely ground salt that is usually used for dusting nuts, and popcorn, and salting the rim of drink or beverage glasses. Fine salt can be used in all sorts of recipes and cooking ideas, and is very similar in taste to table salt.
