An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. Internet Service Providers (ISP's) are companies that provide you with internet access. For example, AT&T, Comcast, Tivo or Direct TV all provide ISP services for a fee. ISP's can be for dialup, broadband or high speed internet connectivity. Some large metropolitan areas offer free ISP service to their residents.
