There is not just one Staedtler pen but many different types because there is a pen and pencil manufacturing company called Staedtler. It started out in Germany more than 175 years ago and has many branches in different parts of the world. Nowadays it produces felt tip and marker pens as well as traditional pencils and ballpoint pens.

It's just a normal ballpoint pen like any other. It's used the same way as any other pen. It's just a brand name company and they mostly use gel ink instead of regular ball point ink. The pens are very expensive compared to normal pens. I like that brand however.
