A parrotfish is a fish. Parrotfishes are a subfamily (though sometimes considered a family) of tropical saltwater fishes. They are called parrotfish because the shape of their teeth and jaws resembles a parrot's beak.

Fish found in tropical waters, they are 1-4 feet and have bright and vibrant colors. Males have most vibrant colors except in the Greek islands where the female exhibits the brightest colors. They have parrot-like beaks. They feed on seaweed which grows on the coral. They surround themselves with a mucus cocoon to sleep. Protects them from predators.
