A moonroof in a car is really exactly the same thing as a sunroof. Some car companies advertise them as moonroofs. It is a window located in the top center of the car. There is a shade you can pull back to expose the window. You can also open the window.

A moonroof is a window on a car that is placed above the driver and not to the left or right. The moonroof's purpose is to give the driver a full concept of driving. Moonroofs are usually placed on sportier cars and are usually capable of opening and sometimes tinted. A moonroof can also be known as a sunroof.

A moonroof is pretty much the same as a sunroof. The term moonroof became popular with the hippies during the 70's. It is an opening in the roof of an automobile which can slide open and closed either manually or mechanically to allow light or fresh air into the vehicle.

It is when a window is installed on the roof of a car, usually limos, where you can see the moonlight while you are riding along. Usually these also come with a panel that you can use to keep the moonlight out if you so choose. It is not as common as it used to be.
