What is a home remedy for a dog with fleas?

My dog has fleas badly and I would like to use a home remedy rather than purchasing a medicine.

Dawn dish washing liquid makes a good flea shampoo. Regular Dawn, not the Ultra. Only use this once or it will dry out the dog's skin. Also give the dog brewer's yeast daily. Treat the home with borax. Sprinkle throughout and after an hour vacuum.

Take a can of wet dog food add a Tablespoon to it and add garlic to it. The fleas can't stand the taste of garlic in the blood. This will deter them as garlic is a very bitter taste and it repels them naturally from the blood products of a dog.

If you want them gone the best way is to go out and buy flea and tick shampoo. They don't go away any other way.

Even with all the new safer and longer-lasting flea-control products available, you still need to follow some basic rules to the letter in order to get the upper hand with fleas.
