Foods such as bananas, mangos, cottage cheese, eggs and turkey all contain levels of the amino acid tryptophan that will help to increase the level of serotonin in the brain. Another way to boost the level of serotonin is to eat foods rich in folic acid such as kidney beans, black beans, oranges and leafy greens.
