The best way to remove moss from trees is the most tedious, by hand. Another effective solution is power-washing the tree, but you must be careful of delicate buds. Both methods should be done when the tree is dormant, generally the winter. This helps to ensure that you do not damage active tree growth.

Mix one box of baking soda with 2 gallons of warm water. Use a spray bottle or landscape sprayer to apply to your trees. The mixture will help kill the moss, but it doesn't prevent the moss from coming back again, so you many need to re-apply periodically.

The easiest way to remove moss from a tree is to prune it during the winter season (when it is dormant) Tis does not permanently remove the moss. Chemicals may be necessary and you should be able to find organic compounds at your local gardening store. This will help to permanently alter the conditions so the moss can not thrive.

Use a clean spray and fill it half way with spring water. Next, add 20 drops of neem essential oil. Close the spray bottle, shake and spray on the moss.

Liming the soil might help here and there. Other than that getting rid of moisture and providing more light will help. Try using mirroring sheets.

The best way to remove moss from the tree without harming it is to scrape the moss with an object or rake, then apply soapy solution to the moss infected areas and use a high pressure water hose to wash away the soapy solution , also trim the branches.
