Tear brown paper for a tree trunk and branches. Use washable paint for your toddler to dip their hands into. The painted handprints can be leaves. Change colors per season.

Toddlers usually love paint. Have him or her spread it on a large piece of paper, then fold it in half and apply pressure to make an abstract design.

A great project for 18 month olds is to allow them to finger paint, once the finger painting is dry use the picture as a back ground to photos of your child. Once it is dry you could frame it with the photos of your child at this age on top of it.

If you can find a large empty appliance box cut it open so that you can flip it inside out and you and your toddler can make a pretend house.

18 month olds will enjoy simple hands on projects. Using non-toxic washable paint, let your child finger paint on different colors of paper. If you want less mess try stamps.
